Bold fonts will pucker and get so thick that cotton fabric cannot handle it.

The thinner the font, the better the clarity. Learned from Trial and Error - stay away from designing with Bold fonts Also - put a space between each letter, 2 spaces between words, and 2 'returns' between lines of phrases. The lettering and hyperfont functions are easy to use. After using the included fonts and some of the designs, I am now using the creative functions to make custom designs. The videos on you tube were helpful to get started. I have been actively using this for 30 days now. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone from novice to advanced embroiderers. I was leery of the Singer name so I purchased the extended two year warranty just in case. The machine is so easy to use and I haven't had any issues for the almost three months I've had it. The software is great for editing designs, creating designs and loading them to the included dongle to sew in the machine. The biggest bargain (worth the cost of the machine) was the software that was included. It comes with two hoops and lots of accessories. I began using it to embroidery from day one. This machine has been a delight right out of the box. I was hesitant to try it since the cost was less than half f the other machines and the problems I had with the other Singers. I've been looking for another machine for the past six months and came across the Singer S10. Both machine cost over $*** each and were such a disappointment. It had the same problems as the first machine. I had so much trouble with it, I returned it and ordered another Singer embroidery machine. I had ordered a Singer Futura machine last year and used it for a short while.
